Introduction

Bus / Truck Engines and International Mexico, SA de CV is part of the U.S. corporation Navistar International (NI), whose main offices are in Chicago Illinois. Although the statement of the company Navistar goes before International, the latter came before the first. In fact it was in 1902 just when some manufacturers of agricultural machinery ( McCormic, Derering , Plano, Warder , Milwaukee, Bushnell and Glessner ) decided to merge and create International Harvester Co ( IHC). In 1907 he built the first truck sold under the brand IHC then simply changed International, a brand that does justice to its name, since very early attained high levels of exports, opening branches all the world.

In 1979, IHC had a 6-month strike that cost him several hundred million dollars. In 1981, he retired truck line Scout that licensed cabs were built DINA trucks 1000 and DINA 3000 (joined by Maquiladora National Automotive Escobedo, NL). In 1986 Navistar became selling the tractor division and oriented to the production of trucks, buses and diesel engines , structured in this way the company Navistar International (NI).

International has been present in Mexico since 1926 as a technology partner in different facets. In 1989, he partnered with Grupo Dina , divested the state company that was built in July 1951. In that year, the Consortium G acquired Group companies Dina, having a partner in NI, which contributed 17% of the investment. NI grew to 22% of capital stock of Dina, but the crisis of December 1994, affected some of the draft NI society and decided to dissolve. Should clarify that in 1963 Dina produced the D-500 medium truck cabin with IHC .

is in 1996 when NI becomes a presence in Mexican territory . In April of that year he began an association with Trailers Monterrey, SA de CV ( TM) for the manufacture of vehicles. The idea was-bond truck in Monterrey, distributed to a network of 18 outlets. The achievement of this year was 5.3% of market 8.800 trucks. The tractors were manufactured series 4700, 4900 and 9200 Class 8.

The relationship did not last long, NI decided construction of its own assembly Mexican territory . The plant is located in Escobedo, NL, and was inaugurated on April 22, 1998. It occupies an area of \u200b\u200b110 hectares, 10 of these are occupied by craft production and administrative offices.
